🌾About me

Hi! 🌾 I’m Andrea, a postdoctoral researcher in Computer Science at the University of Granada and part of the UGRitai lab. I work at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing, focusing on food, culture, and language. My research explores how AI can support healthier and more culturally-aware food systems — from building intelligent nutrition tools to adapting recipes across cultures. My work also addresses bias in language models, including sexism. During my PhD, I was a visiting Ph.D. student at the NLP section of the University of Copenhagen, supervised by Dr. Daniel Hershcovich.

Previously, I worked as a researcher in the H2020 Project Stance4Health, contributing to the design of an intelligent nutrition service. I also hold Master's degrees in Computer Engineering and Data Science from UGR, where I specialized in computing and intelligent systems, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

Scientific communication — I actively participate in scientific dissemination and outreach activities, including international conferences, AI workshops, and events for the general public such as the European Researchers' Night 2025. I am a co-organiser of PyData Granada, and have given talks at the national Python conference (PyConES), working to bring NLP closer to the open-source community.

Feel free to reach out to discuss research, collaborations, or ideas! 😊
